Who is it for?

Anybody who is keen to grow and willing to work, but especially for potential and aspiring leaders, and particularly for those who are currently serving in a leadership capacity (elders, deacons, community group leaders, worship leaders, etc).

How does it work?

  • The course is broken up into 7 modules over 2 years (our schedule covers roughly 30 sessions per year), factoring in seasonal breaks.
  • Each session lasts approximately 1-2 hours. The time includes segments from the video teachinggroup discussion, and corporate singing.*
  • Participants would prepare for sessions by watching the video content (+/- 1hr of teaching) and reading around 10 chapters of the Bible or roughly 5 pages of excerpts (amounting to approximately 3 hours a week).

What is the schedule?

During each module, participants will meet weekly at The Waypoint (or via Zoom if in-person is not possible). Click here for the meeting schedule, or see the image below:

* There is an optional assessment track available (at a fee), where participants submit a brief written response to a discussion question for review by a course tutor. The tutor then provides feedback to the student.

“Biblical instruction ought to enrich our minds with the knowledge of Christ, expand our hearts with love for Christ, and equip our hands for the works of Christ.”

The Advance Theology Course adopts a particular shape to help express and reinforce our values of Word, Spirit, Community and Multiplication.

  • Word: The content of this course centers on the Scriptures with everything revolving around their teachings. Expect to read, meditate on, and study the Scriptures constantly.
  • Spirit: We believe the Spirit must instruct and apply any truth we come across. He turns it from information into revelation and devotion. Expect to pray, sing, minister and walk in the Spirit.
  • Community: This course is intentionally designed for the group to grow together in Christ. Expect to pray for one another, discuss the material and work together toward growth.
  • Multiplication: We receive the Gospel freely and are expected to freely give it away to others. Consider this course an activation point for giving away what you will be learning. Expect to communicate the truths you learn, to contribute to the development of the course, and to invite others into the discipleship journey with you.
