In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey we have a unique yet pressing opportunity before us to get involved in Houston. Generally, we’ve contributed financially to Canadian Aid Organizations who were on the ground in the wake of natural disasters – but this time around, we have a personal connection.
Our friends from OneLife Church in Houston have not only been affected by the hurricane themselves, but are also helping their neighbours in very tangible ways through reachbayareahouston.com! We have an opportunity to send a team down there to work alongside them in this endeavour, as well as alongside a few other Advance churches who will be doing the same.
There is about a two week window in which to respond. Work primarily includes the cleaning of homes and removing of damaged walls, after which licensed contractors will start the reconstruction (hence the time constraint).
